How do I get my browsers to work again?

I have a fairly new gateway laptop running Windows Vista. It's set to wirelessly connect to my home network, and is wirelessly connected, because AIM is working. However, when I try to load any website on either Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer, the websites fail to load. Mozilla shows no progress, and IE says that the website is found, waiting for reply, and that's it.

I've disabled all firewalls and temporarily shut off my McAffee stuff that came with the computer, but nothing will load.

Did you add your laptop to your network? You need to do this in order for it to be able to properly use the shared internet connection. A good place to visit for information on how to add computers to an existing network is the Vista Networking Help and How-to website:

Hope this helps you out, good luck and have a nice evening.
